DAY 02 - DAMBULLA

After having your Breakfast at hotel Proceed to Dambulla. En Route You will Visit Dambulla Cave Temple.
This is a place that has been treasured by many kings since the 1st century B.C. The Dambulla rock temple is an icon in Sri Lanka and houses some of the most unique paintings and statues of Lord Buddha. There are 150 statues of Lord Buddha- the tallest being over 14 ft, carved of rock.
There is also a gigantic gold Buddha statue that glitters as you descend the caves that overlooks the entire area. This area is said to be an important junction in the country’s economic and cultural uplifting.
In the evening enjoy a 4WD Jeep safari at Minneriya National Park.
Which is situated in dry zone of Sri Lanka and receives an average rainfall of 1,500–2,000 millimetres . Large numbers of Sri Lankan elephants are attracted to grass fields on the edges of the Minneriya reservoir. Elephants gathered here in numbering around 150–200. Some reports account number of elephants to as high as 700. Tourists visit Minneriya largely because of this herd of the elephants.

DAY 03 - DAMBULLA

After Breakfast and leave for Anuradhapura Ancient City.
Anuradhapura is the birthplace of Sinhala civilization & one of the world’s largest archeological sites. It is considered as the greatest monastic city of the ancient world, & was found in the 5th century BC.
Mihintale is a mountain peak near Anuradhapura in Sri Lanka. It is believed by Sri Lankans to be the site of the meeting between the Buddhist monk Mahinda and King Devanampiyatissa which inaugurated the presence of Buddhism in Sri Lanka. It is now a pilgrimage site, and the site of several religious monuments and abandoned structures.
Discover & witness 2500 years old ancient remnants, Buddhist Monastic Complexes, Largest Stupas and ruins of Ancient Anuradhapura.
DAY 04 - DAMBULLA

Wake up to a scrumptious breakfast at the hotel and then we will take you to Sigiriya.
The 5th century rock citadel which was built by Sri Lankan King Kashyapa in 477-495AD, is not only famous for its remarkable engineering and urban planning supremacy, but is also said to be quite famous for its unique art and culture.
This beautiful monument is also known as the ‘Lion Rock’ and is a citadel of unusual beauty in Sri Lanka. It stands 200 meters tall and was the innermost stronghold of the 70 hectare fortified town. Step through the huge ‘Lion Paws’ to witness the beautiful surroundings that once dominated this rock fortress. The walls are covered in beautiful frescos paintings that are said to resemble the Gupta style paintings in the Ajanta cave in India. As you walk along – you will come across a mirror wall that faces the western side of Sigiriya.
Here you can learn about the wonders of the irrigation systems back in the day, where water was pumped straight to the summit through an ingenious hydraulic system that remained a mystery for several centuries.
After the lunch you can attend to a Village Safari by a Bullock cart. It will be a great opportunity for you to observe the traditional way of life of local community as well as a cooking lesson.
Your fourth day in Sri Lanka will come to an end with a beautiful cultural show , that showcases the traditional music and drumming of Sri Lanka.
You will return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay at Dambulla.
DAY 05 - TRINCOMALEE

- Proceed to Trincomalee
- Polonnaruwa Heritage Site Visit
Today is 5th day of your tour. After the Breakfast you will proceed to Trincomalee. On the way You will visit Pollonnaruwa Heritage site.
This city rose up after the decline of Anuradhapura and was the medieval capital of Sri Lanka during the reign of King Parakramabahu I from 1153-86 B.C.
Enjoy a long walk in this city and observe beautiful stupas, resting Buddha statues, irrigation canals, and beautifully carved Hindu sculptures. You could even observe the Relic House that contains beautiful stone carvings here. If you look closely you will see the resemblance of Hindu architecture and statues found in Polonnaruwa. You could even sit by the side of the ‘Galviharaya’ and observe the beauty of the huge Buddha statues from there.
The Nissankamalla Council Chamber is another attraction that you could visit here, these are the famous stone pillars of Polonnaruwa and rests beside the Parakkrama Samudraya – which is the man-made water reservoir – built by the famous King Parakramabahu during his reign.
After Polonnaruwa Heritage site, its time to Proceed Trincomalee for your over night stay.
DAY 06 - TRINCOMALEE

Trincomalee is the administrative headquarters of eastern province. The city is built on a peninsula of the same name which divided the inner and outer harbors of world famous Trincomalee natural deep harbor.
The recorded history of Trincomalee spans more than two and a half thousand years. Trincomalee’s urbanization continued when made into a fortified port town following the Portuguese conquest of the Jaffna kingdom, changing hands between the Danish in 1620, the Dutch, the French following a battle of the American Revolutionary War and the British in 1795, being absorbed into the British Ceylon state in 1815. The city’s architecture shows some of the best examples of interaction between native and European styles. Attacked by the Japanese as part of the Indian Ocean raid during World War II in 1942. The city also has the largest Dutch fort on the island.
Fort Fredric
Fort Fredrick is originally built by the Portuguese and completed in 1624 CE, built on Swami Rock-Konamamalai from the debris of the world-famous ancient Hindu Koneswaram temple, which was known as Temple of a Thousand Pillars. The temple was destroyed by the Portuguese colonialist Constantino de Sá de Noronha , occupier of the Jaffna kingdom and Malabar country on the island and built a village of Portuguese and Tamil people and 50 Portuguese soldiers in the fort.
This Fort was dismantled and rebuilt by the Dutch in 1665, renamed Fort Fredrick.
Koneshwaram Temple
The Koneswaram Temple is considered to be one of the five abodes of Lord Shiva, thus making it one of the most important Hindu temples in the whole country. The temple flourished since its inception, as the many kingdoms that came, such as the Anuradhapura Kingdom, Chola Empire, Pandyan Kingdom, and the Jaffna Kingdom made sure to protect the place of worship. In 17th century, the temple also known as ‘Temple of the Thousand Pillars’ was pillaged and destroyed by the Portuguese colonists, which resulted in the loss of many priceless artefacts. The subsequent colonisers, namely the Dutch, and the British allowed the rebuilding of this sacred temple. Moreover, during this time, many lost artifacts were recovered from many excavations conducted by archaeologists.
Maritime and Naval Museum
The museum has been established in a 17th-century building used as the official residence of the Dutch Naval Commissioner during the Dutch ruling period from 1602 to 1795 and from 1795 to 1948 it had been used as the Urban Commissioner’s residence. In 2013 the building was renovated with the assistance of Government of the Netherlands to establish the museum and conservation of the museum building was directed by the Sri Lanka Archaeology Department and the Museums Department.

DAY 07 - KANDY

After breakfast at the hotel proceed to Bentota. on the way you will stop at Galle Dutch Fort.
The fort has a colorful history, and today has a multi-ethnic and multi-religious population. The Sri Lankan government and many Dutch people who still own some of the properties inside the fort are looking at making this one of the modern wonders of the world. The heritage value of the fort has been recognized by the UNESCO and the site has been inscribed as a cultural heritage UNESCO World Heritage Site under criteria iv, for its unique exposition of “an urban ensemble which illustrates the interaction of European architecture and South Asian traditions from the 16th to the 19th centuries.
At the Evening you will take to the Madu river boat House for a 1.5 hour boat safari Through the mangroves in Madu river. Which is a miner watercourse, originates near Uragasmanhandiya in Galle district of Sri Lanka. The river then flows for further 4.4km before draining in to the Indian Ocean.
It has high ecological, biological and aesthetic significance, being home to approximately 303 species of plants belonging to 95 families and 248 species of vertebrate animals. Meet the inhabitants of its, who traditionally produce peeled cinnamon and cinnamon oil.
The Madu river wetland was declared in 2003, in terms of The Ramsar Convention.

DAY 08 - NUWARA ELIYA

After a delectable breakfast, proceed on a tour of the Kandy city. This city holds an array of culture and history as UNESCO has designated as heritage site in 1988.
While you are in the Kandy city tour have an opportunity to witness a traditional Wood carving work shop and The Gem museum and work shop.
After having your lunch, proceed to Nuwara Eliya.
Nuwara Eliya is a Beautiful town in Sri Lanka which is around 2000M high from the mean sea level, With a cool climate, Mountain valleys, waterfalls and tea plantations. It has British style architecture with house resembling country cottages and Queen Anne style mansions. The town is famous for its tea production. Hence, On the way you could visit a Tea factory where processing the prestigious brand of Ceylon Tea, to observe a rich tradition kept alive up to date. As you observe the hissing and swishing of machines, inhaling the heavenly scent arising from these facilities, make sure to have a perfectly blended cup of pure Ceylon Tea.
Continue your journey to the Hill Country and you will be stop to a little brake at View Point of Ramboda Waterfalls, which is 109 Meters High and 11th highest Waterfall of the Sri lanka.
End the day with Check in to the Hotel at Nuwara Eliya.
DAY 09 - YALA

After the breakfast at hotel we will proceed to Nanu Oya Railway station where our Train ride begins.
The train ride from Nanu Oya to Ella, is considered as one of the most beautiful train trip not only in Sri Lanka, but also in the world. Ride will take around 3 hours long and take you through stunning landscapes of green lush tea plantations, tunnels, and mountain views.
We will pick you at Ella Railway station and bring you to Nine arch Bridge which is also known as “Bridge of the sky” and it has built by using brick-stone and cement but without any steel.
After the lunch its time to proceed to Yala National Park which is 2nd Largest national park in the country.
It is situated in the southeast region of the country, and lies in Southern Province and Uva Province. The park covers 979 square kilometers . Yala was declared as a wildlife sanctuary in 1900 and, having been designated as a National park in 1938. The park is best known for its variety of wild animals. It is important for the conservation of Sri Lankan elephants, Sri Lankan leopards, and aquatic birds and many more.
At the late evening of the day, check- in to the hotel at Thissamaharamaya for your overnight stay.
DAY 10 - GALLE

It is around 2 hours’ drive through the busy urban roads. Don’t forget to click some selfies with those backgrounds.
After the Colombo city tour you will drop to Bandaranaike International Airport for your safe fly to home.
