DAY 01 - DAMBULLA

  • Dambulla Cave Temple Visit

After Arrival to CMB Airport, be Welcomed  By Our Chauffer Guide and proceed to Your first destination of the tour-Dambulla.

This is a place that has been treasured by many kings since the 1st century B.C. The Dambulla rock temple is an icon in Sri Lanka and houses some of the most unique paintings and statues of Lord Buddha. There are 150 statues of Lord Buddha- the tallest being over 14 ft, carved of rock.

There is also a gigantic gold Buddha statue that glitters as you descend the caves that overlooks the entire area. This area is said to be an important junction in the country’s economic and cultural uplifting.

After the safari check in to hotel for overnight stay at Dambulla.

DAY 02 - DAMBULLA

Wake up to a scrumptious breakfast at the hotel and then we will take you to Sigiriya.

The 5th century rock citadel which was built by Sri Lankan King Kashyapa in 477-495AD, is not only famous for its remarkable engineering and urban planning supremacy, but is also said to be quite famous for its unique art and culture.

This beautiful monument is also known as the ‘Lion Rock’ and is a citadel of unusual beauty in Sri Lanka. It stands 200 meters tall and was the innermost stronghold of the 70 hectare fortified town. Step through the huge ‘Lion Paws’ to witness the beautiful surroundings that once dominated this rock fortress. The walls are covered in beautiful frescos paintings that are said to resemble the Gupta style paintings in the Ajanta cave in India. As you walk along – you will come across a mirror wall that faces the western side of Sigiriya.

Here you can learn about the wonders of the irrigation systems back in the day,  where water was pumped straight to the summit through an ingenious hydraulic system that remained a mystery for several centuries.

After the lunch you can attend to a Village Safari buy a Bullock cart. It will be a great opportunity for you to observe the traditional way of life of local community as well as a cooking lesson.

Your second day in Sri Lanka will come to an end with a beautiful cultural show , that showcases the traditional music and drumming of Sri Lanka.

You will return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay at Dambulla.

 

DAY 03 - KANDY

Have your Breakfast at hotel and proceed to Kandy. Your first stop of the day would be Mathale.

Matale is in the Central Province of Sri Lanka and is an agricultural zone due to its remarkable contribution of main crops to the Island. From tea & vegetables to rubber and spices, Matale is the main city these crops are cultivated in. Today, Matale has many stories woven around spices. Step into the spice world, where you will be warmly welcomed by staff at the spice garden.

Observe the way of spices processing and also learn about their therapeutic values while enjoying a refreshing cup of herbal tea at there.

At the after noon,  Visit The Word Famous Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic.

Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is located in the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy, which houses the relic of the tooth of the Buddha. Since ancient times, the relic has played an important role in local politics because it is believed that whoever holds the relic holds the governance of the country. The relic was historically held by Sinhalese kings. The temple of the tooth is a World Heritage Site mainly due to the temple and the relic.

DAY 04 - NUWARA ELIYA

After a delectable breakfast, proceed on a tour of the  Kandy city. This city holds an array of culture and history as UNESCO has designated as heritage site in 1988.

While you are in the Kandy city tour have an opportunity to witness a traditional Wood carving work shop and The Gem museum and work shop.

After having your lunch, proceed to Nuwara Eliya.

Nuwara Eliya is a Beautiful town in Sri Lanka which is around 2000M high from the mean sea level, With a cool climate, Mountain valleys, waterfalls and tea plantations. It has British style architecture with house resembling country cottages and Queen Anne style mansions. The town is famous for its tea production. Hence, On the way you could visit a Tea  factory where  processing the prestigious brand of Ceylon Tea, to observe a rich tradition kept alive up to date. As you observe the hissing and swishing of machines, inhaling the heavenly scent arising from these facilities, make sure to have a perfectly blended cup of pure Ceylon Tea.

Continue your journey to the Hill Country and you will be stop to a little brake at View Point of Ramboda Waterfalls, which is 109 Meters High and 11th highest  Waterfall of the Sri lanka.

End the day with Check in to the Hotel at Nuwara Eliya.

DAY 05 - YALA

Highlights of the Day

  • Nine Arch Bridge Visit
  • Safari In Yala National Park

After the breakfast at hotel we will proceed to Nanu Oya Railway station where our Train ride begins.

The train ride from Nanu oya to Ella, is considered as one of the most beautiful train trip not only in Sri Lanka, but also in the world. Ride will take around 3 hours long and take you through stunning landscapes of green lush tea plantations, tunnels, and mountain views.

We will pick you at Ella Railway station and bring you to Nine arch Bridge which is also known as “Bridge of the sky” and it  has built by using  brick-stone and cement but without any steel.

After the lunch its time to proceed to Yala National Park which is 2nd Largest national park in the country.

It is situated in the southeast region of the country, and lies in Southern Province and Uva Province. The park covers 979 square kilometers . Yala was declared as a wildlife sanctuary in 1900 and, having been designated as a National park in 1938. The park is best known for its variety of wild animals. It is important for the conservation of Sri Lankan elephants, Sri Lankan leopards, and aquatic birds and many more.

At the late evening of the day,  check- in to the hotel for your overnight stay.

DAY 06 - BENTOTA

  • Galle Dutch Fort Visit
  • Madu River Boat Safari

After breakfast at the hotel proceed to Bentota. on the way you will stop at Galle Dutch Fort.

The fort has a colorful history, and today has a multi-ethnic and multi-religious population. The Sri Lankan government and many Dutch people who still own some of the properties inside the fort are looking at making this one of the modern wonders of the world. The heritage value of the fort has been recognized by the UNESCO and the site has been inscribed as a cultural heritage UNESCO World Heritage Site under criteria iv, for its unique exposition of “an urban ensemble which illustrates the interaction of European architecture and South Asian traditions from the 16th to the 19th centuries.

 

At the Evening you will take to the Madu river boat House for a 1.5 hour  boat safari Through the mangroves in Madu river. Which is a miner watercourse, originates near Uragasmanhandiya in Galle district of Sri Lanka. The river then flows for further  4.4km  before draining in to the  Indian Ocean.

It  has high ecological, biological and aesthetic significance, being home to approximately 303 species of plants belonging to 95 families and 248 species of vertebrate animals. Meet the inhabitants of its, who traditionally produce peeled  cinnamon and cinnamon oil.

The Madu river wetland was declared in 2003, in terms of The Ramsar Convention.

DAY 07 & 08 - BENTOTA

DAY 09 - Departure

After breakfast at the hotel you will take  for Colombo city tour. There you can witness the Independents square, BMICH, Old Parliament, Lotus Tower, Galle face green, Port city and British colonial Buildings in Colombo Fort. It is around 2 hours’ drive through the busy urban roads. Don’t  forget to click some selfies with those backgrounds.

After the Colombo city tour you will drop  to Bandaranaike International Airport for your safe fly to home.
